Laings to push online with newly created role

Laings of Glasgow has expanded its team with the introduction of an online manager role that has been filled by Lauren Anderson.

The Scottish watch and jewellery retailer has been expanding its physical store presence over the past year and will now look to achieve a similar feat online through the creation of this new role.

Anderson said: “As Laings’ online manager I will be undertaking the task of improving and building on Laings’ online presence as a reputable jeweller, not just in Scotland but internationally. I have high hopes for where we can take the business online and I am excited about realising the untapped potential of the brand.”

Anderson has a strong grounding in the jewellery industry having worked for a number of well-known companies such as Cruise as jewellery buyer, Carrick Jewellery as head of design, Jodie’s jewellery boutique and PKennedy as marketing and product development manager.

Laings of Glasgow director Wendy Laing said: “Lauren has a wealth of experience on both the retail and wholesale sides of the jewellery industry so we are delighted to have attracted and secured someone of her calibre and experience.”

Since expanding in Glasgow’s Argyll Arcade over the past year Laings of Glasgow has been on a recruitment drive and has appointed a total of seven new members of sales staff across its three stores – two trading as Laings of Glasgow and one as Robert Stewart.

Laing said: “It is a really exciting time for the business due to our rapid growth and trading success. As well as top quality watch and jewellery brands such as Rolex, Cartier, Gucci and TAG Heuer, Laings also stocks high-end fashion-led jewellery brands such as Rachel Galley, Sarah Ho and Ti Sento which we really believe sit well with social media. We have lots of exciting initiatives in the pipeline and cannot wait to show off our new website when it’s ready.”
