Iwc portugieser hand wound anniversary watch

Laing Edinburgh takes on IWC Schaffhausen

Jeweller Laing Edinburgh has added Swiss watch brand IWC Schaffhausen to its luxury watch offer.

Michael Laing OBE, Laing Edinburgh’s chairman, said: “We are proud to partner with IWC Schaffhausen, one of the world’s leading Swiss brands in the luxury watch sector. With an international reputation for its iconic timepieces such as the Portugieser, IWC employs the finest craftsmen and has created outstanding collections for all occasions. Many of our customers have already been enquiring after the brand, so we’re delighted to welcome the collections in-store.”

Laing Edinburgh was clearly keen to bring the brand’s Portugieser collection, completely revamped for 2015, to its customers. Work on the collection, which marks 75 years of its continuous production, includes subtle redesigns and some entirely new movements including the inhouse automatic calibre 52 inside IWC’s new annual calendar as well as the introduction of Santoni straps.

Simon Chambers, brand director of IWC UK, added: “Laing Edinburgh provides a perfect fit for IWC, a company that reflects both our brand values and our customer’s expectations. With the new store opening in George Street, Laing is the perfect partner for our brand providing an elegant and luxurious showcase for our latest watch collections.”
