Kering splits into specialist divisions

Kering, the group owner of Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard, will next month be setting up a Watches and Jewellery division.

The division will operate alongside a new Couture and Leather Goods division offering focus on the two fields that Kering work within.

Albert Bensoussan, formerly watch and jewellery director at LVMH, is appointed CEO of the ‘Luxury – Watches and Jewelry’ division and will report directly to Kering chairman and chief executive officer François-Henri Pinault, who said: “The new structure reflects the specific character of the businesses of the Group’s different brands, and will provide better responses to their particular needs, adapted to each brand’s stage of development. The introduction of this structure is a logical stage in the formation of a more integrated group, to further accelerate the development of our brands while respecting the autonomy and individual identity of each of them.’

Pinault himself will oversee the management of the Gucci brand.
