Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) has announced that business leader Karren Brady will be its keynote speaker at its second UK Jewellery Business Conference, which will take place on October 8 and 9.
Brady is vice chairman of West Ham FC, Lord Sugar’s advisor on the BBC’s The Apprentice and one of the UK’s leading female business speakers. She is also chair of the Mothercare Group Foundation and has been a board director of Mothercare, Channel 4 Television and Sport England and is currently a non-executive director of Arcadia. Additionally, she is an honorary fellow of the Institute of Sales and Marketing
Speaking about her appearance at the CMJ event, chief executive Willie Hamilton said: “We are delighted to have secured Karren Brady as our keynote speaker. She will be joined by the BBC’s Breakfast presenter Bill Turnbull who will be hosting our conference and a wide range of retail, marketing and jewellery industry experts at the event.”
The UK Business Conference, which runs over two days from October 8 in Birmingham, is only open to CMJ retail members and representatives of approved CMJ suppliers.
Hamilton added: “The speakers we have lined up will be able to share market trends, advice and insights which will be invaluable for both retailers, suppliers and distributors within the UK jewellery and watch industry.”
