Karl Lagerfeld flagship launches on Regent Street

Fashion supremo Karl Lagerfeld was in London last week to launch his eponymous brand’s flagship UK store on Regent Street.

The concept store is the first in the UK from the Karl Lagerfeld brand, launched in 2006 by the man who is also creative director of Chanel and Fendi.

Pier Paolo Righi, chief executive officer of Karl Lagerfeld, said. “Opening on Regent Street provides us with an exceptional opportunity to position our brand in this important market. London is one of the world’s leading cities when it comes to retail and this location offers a unique brand mix. Our London presence will be a fantastic representation of our brand’s aesthetic, and it showcases our cool, accessible-luxe collections in a cutting-edge environment."

The 250 sq mt store is the brand’s biggest in Europe and represents its “aspirational and accessible” luxury collections – that feature a range of unique, idiosyncratic watch designs – with cutting-edge digital technology.

David Shaw, head of the Regent Street portfolio at The Crown Estate, said: "Karl Lagerfeld is as Vogue called him "the unparalleled interpreter of the mood of the moment". Regent Street is proud of its retail renaissance over the last decade and the decision of Karl Lagerfeld to open on our street is a great endorsement to our vision and retail execution."
