German watchmaker Junghans is best-known for its crisp, uncluttered designs but, as the fad for Scandi-style minimalism fades, the brand has pivoted into the new hot trend for steel sports timekeepers.
The Meister S Chronoscope is a racy chronograph presented on a steel bracelet or synthetic rubber strap with leather inlay that has red stitching matching red details on the watch’s dial and hands.
The version on a hybrid strap is limited to 888 units while two steel models, one with a matt anthracite dial and another with a green-black lacquer, are not limited.
Meister is the top end of the Junghans’ family, and the new S Chronoscope will be priced at £2270 when it goes on sale in June.
“This watch blazes a trail entirely of its own. Sporty, autonomous, but with its own unique elegance, the Meister S Chronoscope is perhaps the most eloquent Meister there’s ever been,” Junghans says.
The large 45mm brushed steel case houses an automatic J880.1 movement driving the hours, minutes, chronograph counters and a day/date at 3 o’clock.
