A Career as Unique as You Are

We have a rare opportunity for an exceptional Sales Manager for Pre-Owned Watches at Laings. 

The ideal candidate will have an infectious passion for luxury timepieces, take strong ownership of the category and generate sales growth. This is a newly created role, which requires strong relationship building skills internally and externally, to forge meaningful connections that help drive new opportunities and gain trust in both audiences. You will need to be able to prioritise effectively in a fast-changing environment, invent and simplify, and communicate clearly and persuasively. All underpinned by a meticulous sales process and operational strategy.

This role will allow you to primarily work remotely, however you will be encouraged to work from site when required with our teams and attend meetings in our Head Office location, Glasgow.

Here is How We See Your Role:

  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of the luxury watch industry and hold a long-standing association with key watch membership organisations along with their key stakeholders.
  • Develop effective working relationships with our Store Managers and retail teams, upholding a regular presence on site.
  • Build relationships with clients through a presence instore and at Laings events.
  • Work closely with Store Managers and staff to develop the customer service experience and enhance store sales performance.
  • Grow and develop an excellent knowledge base of store client lists.
  • Represent Laings standards and increase sales and performance margins.
  • Provide marketing support with a view to opening new markets and growing the customer base.
  • Liaise and communicate regularly with Head Office regarding Accounts, Stock, HR, E-Commerce & Marketing.
  • Conduct regular management meetings to communicate sales activity and report back to Procurement Director.
  • Carry out and manage special projects as advised by the Procurement Director.
  • Coach and mentor sales teams nationally, delivering training where required.
  • Collaborate with our Service department to reduce lead times on the service journey.
  • Establish solid supply network, adhering to any brand specific restrictions.

The Perfect Person We are Looking for Must Have:

  • A high level of experience within pre-owned watch market.
  • A natural ability to build strong relationships, influence others and confidently network.
  • Results-driven leadership skills, able to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication principles, with attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Passion for luxury timepieces and the world of horology.
  • Ability to deliver luxury, world-class service to a discerning clientele.
