JOB OF THE DAY: Patek Philippe offers two-year watchmaking apprenticeships in Geneva

Apprentice Watchmakers will complete a 22 to 23 month course at the Patek Philippe Institute in Geneva to achieve their accreditation, before returning to work in the UK at the company’s Service Centre in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire.

Patek Philippe is the last family-owned independent Genevan Watch Manufacturer.

We are currently enrolling to fill the following positions at our Patek Philippe Institute in Geneva, Switzerland.

Apprentice Student Watchmaker

As an Apprentice Watchmaker you will complete a 22 to 23 month course in Geneva, Switzerland to achieve an accreditation.

French lessons form part of the criteria for this course.

If successful, thereafter you will work in our UK Service Centre in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, repairing modern watches, quartz and mechanical with manual winding and automatic.

You must be able to relocate to Geneva in September 2023 without any restrictions.

Then, upon graduating in July / August 2025, relocate to Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire.

You will receive a remuneration package and all accommodation and travel costs will be paid for.

Ideally candidates will have no previous experience in the watchmaking industry.

However, you will need to have an analytical mind, autonomy, team spirit and a good aptitude for mechanical work.

A good level of English is required to read and interpret technical documents.

How to apply

Interviews, workshop assessments, theory & practical exams will take place over three days on 9th, 10th & 11th May 2023.

You must be able to attend all three days.

The company carries out DBS, reference and work permit checks during the pre-employment process.

Employment is subject to a successful apprenticeship and accreditation.
