Jennifer Manning named new Drakes director

Drakes Group has announced the appointment of long-term employee Jennifer Manning as a company director.

Manning is the first non-family member to be appointed as a director at Drakes. She is set to work alongside existing Drakes directors John and Eva Hirshman and their children Andrew Hirshman and Monique Hirshman.

Manning’s career started with Drakes in 2003 as a part time sales consultant in the Plymouth store, which stocks watch brands Citizen, Tissot, Rado, Raymond Weil, Seiko and Emporio Armani. She is said to have been "ambitious from the onset", progressing to store manager at the company’s Swarovski Plymouth store and in 2010, before becoming Drakes Group’s first area manager.

Drakes director Andrew Hirshman said of her appointment: “We are absolutely thrilled that Jennifer has accepted her promotion as director of Drakes Group. Her loyalty, passion and dedication to the company are well beyond the call of duty. Over the past five years our business has grown tremendously and we felt the time was right to make this very important development in our company. Jennifer has clearly shown her commitment and she shares the vision we all have for the business. We look forward to working with her even more closely so that we can continue to grow and improve our business and our customer service in the future.”

Manning said she was both delighted and honoured to have been appointed as a director. "When you work for a company for 10 years, they have to have something special about them," she said. "What I love about working for Drakes is their vision, ambition and determination. We have a fantastic team and what’s so important is that we all love what we do. I feel extremely privileged in my new role and I look forward to achieving our goals and driving our company further forward. The future is looking very bright."
