Auction house Watches of Knightsbridge is all set to offer one of the most sought-after Rolex watches at its next watch sale on Saturday.
The star lot of the sale is sure to be a 1940s ‘Jean Claude Killy’ Oyster Rolex with two-tone silver dial and three sub registers, recording hours, minutes and running seconds as well as day and date apertures and an outer date track with blued central indicator.
The watch offers is described as being in excellent condition and has an estimate of £60,000-£80,000. In December 2012, a Rolex Jean Claude Killy from 1960 set a world record at Christie’s New York sale achieving $638,500 (£415,000).
An example of Omega’s 18ct rose gold central tourbillon chronometer from 2009 is also offered with an estimate of £35,000-£45,000, while an automatic 1969 Zenith El Primero with grey ‘smoke’ dial is expected to sell for £2,500-£3,000.
Viewings of the lots take place on Friday (10am-8pm) and Saturday (9am onwards) at Watches of Knightsbridge’s showroom at 64 Knightsbridge with the sale starting at 11am. Those unable to make the sale in person will be able to bid online via www.the-saleroom.com and www.proxibid.co.uk .
