As if the gentle rotation of a tourbillon weren’t captivating enough, Jaquet Droz has surrounded its latest haute horology creation with a mineral watch face and rotor representing the night sky.
The Grande Seconde Tourbillon Aventurine features a watch face and gold oscillating weight cut from a dial of aventurine in dark blue naturally containing tiny reflective shards.
The white gold watch, produced in a new 39mm diameter, represents the same fusion of watchmaking and high jewellery craft that the brand is renowned for.
A mother of pearl dial and ring surrounding the tourbillon, itself protected by a sapphire crystal frame, serve to contrast the dark watch face.
The Grande Seconde Tourbillon Aventurine represents the first time that Jaquet Droz has paired a 39mm tourbillon watch with a mineral watch face. The automatic watch comes with a seven day power reserve and only 28 pieces will be created.
