IWC Schaffhausen is paying tribute to pilot and adventurer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry with its latest limited edition Big Pilot’s watch.
The story behind the Big Pilot’s Watch Edition ‘Le Petit Prince’ is the classic novel The Little Prince, which was written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry in 1943.
The 18ct red gold timepiece, which features a 7-day power reserve, is limited to 250 pieces.
The Little Prince describes a never-ending battle with the baobab tree seedlings, which if allowed to take root would split the prince’s tiny planet into pieces.
The story is used as inspiration at the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation, a charity that IWC has been supporting since 2006, that aims to inspire young people growing up in difficult and hostile environments – helping to build their future and encourage them to take an active role in society.
