IWC adds two new watches to Pilot range

Luxury Swiss watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen has introduced two new editions to its famed Pilot collection.

Following the launch of the new Da Vinci and Ingenieur collections earlier this year, IWC Schaffhausen has unveiled the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph and the Pilot’s Watch Mark XVIII.

Pilot’s watches, designed to honour French pilot Antoine de Saint-Exupery, were the original oversized watches through necessity of unrivalled legibility and featured vast tactile (often diamond and onion) crowns that could be operated without the need to remove flight gloves.

The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition’sself-winding system generates a power reserve of 44 hours while the numerals and hands dial feature luminous coatings to ensure good legibility, even at night-time.

The second innovation,Pilot’s Watch Mark XVIII Edition, features a tobacco brown dial and is fitted with a brown calfskin strap by Santoni with decorative white stitching. This design is inspired by the typical overalls worn by pilots in Saint-Exupéry’s era.
