Inhorgenta Munich 2019 opened this morning with 1,052 exhibitors from 41 countries — an increase of 2% — cramming into the Messe München exhibition hall.
“We are not only the leading trade fair in Germany, but are also considered one of the largest trade fairs for the timepieces, jewellery and gemstones industry worldwide,” says Klaus Dittrich, chairman and CEO of Messe München.
The organiser says that it has bucked a trend of watchmakers walking away from trade shows by increasing its participation from watch brands by 16% this year thanks to creating a ne Watch Boutique in the heart of Hall A1.
Maurice Lacroix returns to Munich after a few years of absence, and smartwatch maker Garmin is exhibiting for the first time as it reaches out to traditional watch and jewellery retailers.
The show lists 61 watch companies exhibiting including Citizen, Casio, Junkers, Meistersinger, Sinn and Victorinox.
