Major watch world influencers Noel Coyle and Adam Obernik from Fraser Hart, Erica Redgrave at Bucherer and a slew of other leading retail executives mixed with people who share their lives on social media at a high profile launch for Gucci’s Grip watches in London last night.
Retailers giving their thumbs up to the genderless Grip collection will be critical to its success. It will be the difference between the watches being stocked at high traffic stores, seen at eye level in windows, being pushed by sales consultants on the shop floor, and promoted on home pages of ecommerce sites.
The Grip event was hosted by Gucci president and CEO Marco Bizzarri and Gucci Timepieces CEO Piero Braga (pictured above).
The theme of the party was skateboard culture, particularly from its 1970s origin, and an unused industrial wharf was just the type of space that might have been adopted by skating pioneers.
Along with the VIP retailers, guests included Jamie xx, Nick Grimshaw, Jefferson Hack, Jessica Barden, Alex Lawther, Micheal Ward, Kano, Harris Reed, Jimothy Lacoste, Novelist, Connie Constance, Princess Julia, Bossy LDN, Josh Barnes, Goat Girl, Koffee, Kenzie, Mimi Xu, Nayana Iz, Azadi MP3, James Righton, Kadeem Ramsay, Phoebe Collings-James, Bee Beardsworth, Maxim Magnus, Hope Ikpoku, Anders Hayward, Bibi Abdulkadir, Danson Idris, Josh Ludlow, Finn Buchanan, Georgia Moot, Georgie Hobday, Kasper Kapica, Sydney Lima, Max Cocking, Dickon Bowden, Rhea Dillon, Harry Lambert, Raven Smith, India Rose James, Daisy Hoppen, Elias Riadi, Alexander James, Connor Kawaii, Ryan Hawaii, Sagg Napoli, James Spencer, Lea Colombo, Ben Schofield Pablo Rousson, Lily Bling, Anthon Raimund, Miss Jason, Danny Lomas, Shaquille Keith, Elias Riadi, Ludovic De Saint Sernin, Frederik Tjaerandsen, Priya Ahluwalia, Saul Nash, Paria Farzaneh, Dan Fisher Eustance, Ashura Parchment, Melek Zertal, Kieron Livingstone and Willy Ndatira.
