IN VIDEO: Faldo defines an Audemars Piguet moment

Audemars Piguet has launched the sixth in a series of video discussions with its ambassadors, this time with Sir Nick Faldo explaining the turning point of his career in 1987 when he won his first major at The Open.

The Defining Moments series now turns its attention to Faldo, who became Audemars Piguet’s first ever brand ambassador in 1989, and focuses on the result of a two-year period that he used to perfect his swing.

The release of the video coincides with Audemars Piguet’s support to the 18th Faldo Series Grand Final, taking place at the Greenbrier Resort, West Virginia. His non-profit organisation seeks to give back to the sport and dedicate time to the young generation and nurture future talents.

Aged 13, Faldo was inspired to play golf while watching the 1971 Masters on television, then winning one tournament every year from 1977 to 1982. The first break through in his career came in 1983 when he won five events, making him No 1 in the European ranking by the end of that year. Disappointed by his performance and results for the year that followed, the British golf player decided to reconstruct his swing for the next two long years. He went on to secure six Major titles with nine victories on the PGA tour and the Ryder Cup points record.
