The Submersible world installation began on September 2 and will continue till October 31, with watch aficionados and Harrods customers invited to the exhibit.

Florentine sports watch brand Panerai is hosting an installation at Harrods Fine Watch room over the next two months.

The Submersible world installation began on September 2 and will continue till October 31, with watch aficionados and Harrods customers invited to the exhibit.

Thanks to the ad-hoc new design concept developed by Panerai Creative Director Alvaro Maggini, clients will be immersed in an environment filled with dangerous species, with giant octopus tentacles, sharks and warships all featuring.

To highlight the brand’s connection with the sea, the product focus of the exclusive temporary corner is the Panerai Submersible Chrono Guillaume Néry Edition – 47 mm, introduced at the latest SIHH in Geneva, and dedicated to Panerai Brand Ambassador Guillaume Néry, a professional diver and 4-times freediving world champion.

The Panerai Submersible Chrono Guillaume Néry Edition is a professional diving watch, water-resistant to a depth of about 300 metres (30 bar) and fitted with a unidirectional rotating bezel, which accurately displays the duration of the dive.

The dial is clearly legible under all lighting conditions and in complete darkness, thanks to the luminous white markers, which stand out strongly against the shark grey, textured background.

Engraved on the screw back are the champion’s signature and the depths of his final awe-inspiring record: 126 metres, achieved with a single breath.

  1. Bit over the top but entertaining. However, Panerai would be better advised to focus in on its horology. It may make sense to use Valjoux 7750 baseplates for Panerai’s In-house movements but it undercuts the rationale of emphasizing an in-house movement. I think it is great that Panerai supports an explorer like Mike Horn but the magic of Panerai needs to be in its watches and not in its showrooms or promotional activities.
