IN PICTURES: Global artists give their perspective on Gucci’s G-Timeless watches

Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele asked artists to interpret the watches in their own way, and to focus in particular on elements, like the bee, that makes the G-Timeless distinctive.

Gucci has unveiled a gallery of artworks from illustrators, painters and digital artists from across the world giving their perspective on the G-Timeless automatic watch.

Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele asked artists to interpret the watches in their own way, and to focus in particular on elements, like the bee, that makes the G-Timeless distinctive.

Artists include Winnie Chi from China, Kieron Livingstone, Oh de Laval, Cambo, and Tishk Barzanji from the UK, Balfua and Margot Ferrick from the United States, David Macho from Spain and Andrey Kasay from Russia.

Although each artist has brought their personal eye to the project, all the pieces share a dreamy, surreal mood, perfectly in keeping with Gucci’s eclecticism.

There are eight Swiss-made variations of the G-Timeless in all, with a 38mm or a 42mm case.

Three models combine an 18ct yellow gold case with a black onyx, brown tiger eye or green malachite stone dial.

Five further variants combine a steel case with a blue lapis stone dial or a black onyx stone dial.
