IN PICS: TAG launches Red Bull Racing F1 watch at Monaco

TAG Heuer used the glamorous backdrop of the Monaco Grand Prix to launch a new watch that marks its partnership with Red Bull Racing Formula One team.

The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Red Bull Racing Team watch is a steel quartz 1/10th second chronograph decorated in the Formula One team’s colours of midnight blue and red.

Two versions of the watch are presented, one on steel bracelet, the other on a blue textile strap with red stitching, inspired by the driver restraints used in racing cars.

WatchPro announced in November that TAG Heuer was to move its Formula One sponsorship to Red Bull Racing, ending a 30-year association with McLaren and becoming official timekeeper and official watch of the Red Bull Racing team.

Red Bull Racing has amassed four Double World Champion titles, having won the FIA Constructors’ and Drivers’ titles each year in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.

The Swiss brand’s chief executive officer Jean-Claude Biver also announced a £7,500 18ct rose gold and titanium version of its Connected smartwatch.

While the £1,100 titanium Connected features a part exchange clause after two years that allows owners to collect an exclusive mechanical Carrera for a further £1,100 TAG is operating a straignt swap policy for the rose gold version.
