Identity becomes Derby County timing partner

Derby’s Identity the Jewellers has been named official timekeeper of Derby County Football Club, a partnership that was announced at a recent championship match.

Identity runs two stores in Derby’s Westfield mall, including a specialist fashion watch store. The store’s logos will now feature across advertising boards at Pride Park, home of Derby County, and on big screens at the ground during games.

Identity will also sponsor the Man of the Match award at each game, gifting a Jorg Gray watch to the player of the match during for the remainder of the season, presented by former Derby County player Roger Davies.

Identity the Jewellers’ director Alison Warner said: “We are extremely proud to have formed this partnership and look forward to enjoying a close relationship with Derby County Football Club. The club’s history and heritage is very rich and we see no reason why the club cannot progress to be in the top flight once again.

“We can confirm that a Jorg Gray watch will be the Man of the Match award for the remainder of the season. Jorg Gray already has strong roots in sport, offering limited edition Clint Dempsey and Ben Spies watches.”

The football team said it was important for them to support local businesses, as Identity celebrates the first anniversary of its separate fashion watch store.

George Harborne, part of the commercial team at Derby County said of the deal: “This partnership again reinforces the commitment and desire of the club to work closely with businesses and brands from the local area, ultimately assisting in their growth through the interest and exposure that football inevitably brings.

Identity the Jewellers certainly fit with the community and family focus that the Club has, with it being both a locally based, nationally developing brand and also a family run business.”
