Eden Hazard has been signed-up as a brand ambassador by Ice Watch.
The Belgian watchmaker is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and the partnership with its countryman Mr Hazard will provide a boost, particularly in a World Cup year when Belgium is one of the fancied teams.
The captain of his national team is also one of the most high profile footballers in the UK thanks to his success at Chelsea Football Club.
Ice Watch is currently exploring options to re-ignite sales the UK, either by opening its own office or by signing up with a distributor. The company previously worked with Peers Hardy during its boom years around 2010.
Mr Hazard says that Ice Watch shares his values. “I am proud to wear the colours of a brand whose origins, enthusiasm and exciting boldness I share. Together we are accessible to all generations, countries and cultures. These are exactly the same qualities as the game of football, the unifying sport par excellence.”
Jean-Pierre Lutgen, CEO of the watch brand adds: “As a creator of affordable watches for all, this is the kind of collaboration we love. Charismatic, committed, generous, enthusiastic: Eden Hazard is an ideal ambassador. Ice-Watch is looking to partner with personalities who, like him, are well-liked by the general public and move forward while remaining accessible.”
Mr Hazard is a major influencer on social media, with more than 26.5 connections across all platforms.
