Hyetis launches with first ‘Swiss smartwatch’

Newly launched Swiss watch brand Hyetis has exploded onto the scene with the Crossbow model, which features an automatic Swiss movement combined with a touch-screen camera and WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity.

Hyetis brands the timepiece as "the first Swiss Smartwatch".

The company has chosen a Swiss automatic movement to maintain precision, while the "smart" part of the watch is said to have been kept separate with its own battery-provided energy supply, while still being able to interact with the watch’s mechanical functions.

The watch is designed to tie in the best of Swiss tradition combined with modern technologies and has a look similar to a little wrist crossbow.

The Crossbow is adorned with a titanium grade-five case, with a diameter of 46mm.

The front of the watch is sapphire glass and there is a circular touch-sensitive bezel and, in the place of the dial, a high resolution colour display.

Connectivity is supported via WiFi or bluetooth and allows the Crossbow to be paired with smartphones.

Traditional buttons are replaced by environmental sensors, for instance an altimeter, light meter, microphone, thermometer and barometer.

A high resolution camera takes the place of the traditional crown at 12 o’clock, while the crown is positioned at 6 o’clock.

Two rechargeable batteries are located in the metal inserts of the Nato-type interchangeable strap. The strap incorporates biometric sensors to provide information about the wearer’s physical condition in real time.

The Crossbow can be configured via an App or via the online configurator on a Hyetis account.

Initially, a collector’s edition of Crossbow watches limited to 500 copies will be available globally.
