Sales and marketing director for Hugh Rice Jewellers, James Rice, is embarking on his first marathon this weekend as he takes on the London Marathon.
Rice (pictured right) will be running in support of the Smile Foundation, a charitable body that helps other charities in the community. It aims to highlight the challenges facing local charities and source the tools to fix them. It aims to be the ‘go-to’ destination for charity advice and support in Hull and East Yorkshire.
“This is my first marathon and I’m truly terrified! It would be amazing and really appreciated if you could sponsor me,” Rice said as part of his sponsorship drive.
He hopes to raise £3,500 and has so far reached £2,066.20.

Hugh Rice Jewellers is a Hull-based retailer and has demonstrated an impressive vision for expansion in the past few years, having appeared in WatchPro‘s 20165 Hot 100.
Hull has been designated as the City of Culture 2017 and it is hoped the jeweller will be able to capitalise on the attention and investment being poured into the city.
