This month’s Hublot exhibition at Harrods is the fourth stop on a global Art of Fusion Tour that will have touched down in Beirut, Kyoto, Macau, London, Hanoi, Berlin, New York, Praha and Istanbul by the time it ends.
The aim of the events is to demonstrate Hublot’s constant mission to innovate and bring new materials and combinations of materials to life in its watches.
The watchmaker has created its own patented alloys such as Hublonium (magnesium and aluminium), King Gold (gold and platinum), and more recently, Magic Gold, which uses ceramic in an alloy that makes 24ct gold scratch-resistant.
The Harrods exhibition gives watch lovers a look inside the case at Hublot’s movements and their complications; specifically the Unico chronograph movement that was designed, developed, machined and assembled at the company’s manufacture in Nyon.
A number of rare limited editions are on show and for sale including the Techframe in PEEK Carbon, which is exclusive to Harrods for the month of October and limited to 70 pieces to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Ferrari.
The Spirit of Big Bang in an all-sapphire case, one of only 250 on sale world-wide, is also on show.
