Did I miss a memo, or does Hublot have a new slogan?
A press release describing a limited edition Big Bang Unico Sapphire, made exclusively for London’s Harrods, says the watch embodies Hublot’s philosophy to “Be First, Different and Unique”.
This philosophy appears to be in addition to the long-standing “Art of Fusion” tag line that guides its creativity, engineering and manufacturing.
The two complement each other rather well, I think.
Ten years after Hublot watches first went on sale in Harrods, the new limited edition in the department store’s signature green , comes in a 45mm sapphire case with a bezel made from SAXEM (Sapphire Aluminium oXide and rare Earth Mineral), a high-tech material with similar properties to diamond.
The 15-piece limited edition watch looks like a glowing emerald, but the sapphire and SAXEM combination is much more rugged and resilient.

With this new timepiece drawing on Hublot’s expertise and in Harrods’ signature colour, available to Harrods clients in a special edition of 15 models, we are proud to see our partnership continue to go from strength to strength,” says Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe.
Visible through the clear sapphire case is Hublot’s MHUB1242 UNICO automatic chronograph movement.
It comes with two straps, one combines green rubber and camouflage rubber, the other is ribbed white rubber.
The watch is on sale for £59,000.
