Houlden Group appoints new director

Luxury jewellery consortium, the Houlden Group, has announced the appointment of Lizzie McAuley as the latest director to join the Board.

McAuley joins the company with a wealth of industry knowledge obtained in her previous role as director of Bedford-based Baker Brothers Diamonds, a family run jeweller founded in 1839.

McAuley has had a varied career and used to work buying for designer and supermarket brands such as Hugo Boss and Tesco.

Following her appointment, Ms McAuley said: “Houlden are collaborative, forward-thinking and hold the membership at the heart of everything they do. As a member, the Houlden advantage improved several aspects of my business so I look forward to working with a board of like-minded industry experts to take Houlden to the next level and beyond.”

Her role will be to deliver key strategies to shape and steer the way Houlden work to benefit their members.

Houlden CEO, Helen Haddow, thinks the appointment of McAuley will bring something new to the Houlden board.

She said: “We are delighted to add further diversity to the Board of Houlden, and with that Lizzie brings a challenging and dynamic personality that was apparent during the several director’s meetings she attended as part of our guest member programme. She is a welcome addition to the Board and I look forward to her input in helping to shape the future of Houlden.”
