It’s easy to believe Victoria Campbell when she says the qualities that have served her best are determination, common sense and a sense of humour – along with a sprinkling of pragmatism. Only a lady with these strengths could have overcome spinal surgery in the same year that her company is reaping the rewards of both top and bottom line performance improvements.
“Luckily my surgeon is Swiss, so when I said I couldn’t possibly set a date for surgery until after Basel he understood completely!” she laughs.
Indeed, this was a particularly unmissable Baselworld for Victoria, as the Dreyfuss Group unveiled its brand new stand in Hall 5, with a debut Swiss Collection for both Rotary and Dreyfuss and Co.
“It’s always nerve-wracking designing and building a new stand, but this year we were all extremely proud of our much larger, more contemporary setting, which provided the perfect backdrop for another record year of orders taken at the show,” she says.
When discussing the Dreyfuss Group’s recent successes – both at Basel and in the 2015 performance figures – Victoria remarks: “It’s a team effort and we are lucky to have a small but highly experienced managerial team who all pulled together to deliver a great result.
“We have nothing without relationships – both with our own internal talent and our customers who support us and champion our brands in their stores,” she continues. “Our primary focus will always be listening to consumers and customers and helping to meet their current and future needs, as well as empowering our talented staff to go the extra mile every day.”
One of the lessons learned by Victoria and the team over the past 12 months is the importance of looking ahead and planning accordingly, and this will form a key part of their strategy for growth in the UK and international markets over the next one to five years.
“In general, we subscribe to keeping things simple and implementing plans with efficiency and speed,” she concludes.
