Balancing a busy family life with running award-winning jeweller Chisholm Hunter is a source of huge pride for Tracey Brown.
Her two sons, daughter, husband and Winston the bulldog would be a full time occupation for most women, but Tracey juggles it all – driving her daughter to horse riding competitions one weekend, opening brand new stores (one in Glasgow, one in Kingston, Kent) the next.
None of this would be possible without a prolific team at the business, and it is the growth this year of the watch and jewellery buying team that Tracey suggests has had a hugely positive impact over the past 12 months. “I think my greatest achievement over the last year must be building the best buying team in the business. How’s that for confidence!” she says.
That team has been instrumental in improving Chisholm Hunter’s line up of mid-to-high end watch brands, which are presented in a growing number of stores from dedicated Swiss watch shop-in-shops (SIS). “I am very proud of the partnerships we have cemented with our Swiss watch houses. They have given us the opportunity to show what we can do and I will always be very grateful for this. Our amazing SISs, which we have positioned in some of our larger stores, are a credit to our teams and the new partnerships with a number of prestigious Swiss watch houses,” Tracey concludes.
