It has been a star-studded year for Julie Halford as she’s toiled relentlessly to ensure the success of InterCity’s portfolio of brands through creative and cleverly executed marketing plans.
Julie has been with InterCity for four years now, having joined from radio station Heart 106, and arrived equipped with her a keen knowledge of celebrity culture and attention-grabbing PR techniques that have served the Midlands watch distributor well.
A particular high for Julie this year has been getting a Roamer watch onto the wrist of hunky Australian actor (and current Montblanc ambassador) Hugh Jackman, but that’s just one of her many stardust moments whilst on the campaign trail. She’s also gifted watches to music stars Emeli Sandé, Professor Green and Jessie J, and has been working on promoting the links between brand Police and its new eyewear ambassador, footballer Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior.
Julie describes the past year as “a real buzz” with lots of activity around InterCity’s Police, Kate Spade, Ben Sherman and Superdry brands, and promises there will be more to come. “I want to keep up the momentum and ensure these and our other brands continue driving in the forefront,” she says. “We’ve got some really great plans towards the end of the year on our Swiss brands and a big global project for next year, so I’m really looking forward to getting my teeth in to those.”
It sounds like another hectic few months for Julie, but at the end of the year it will be time for her to stop courting the attention of stars and become the star of her own story when she gets married in the suitably glam surrounds of Tuscany, which will make for a well-deserved rest, we reckon.
