Casio G-Shock has a reputation for producing some of the toughest watches on the planet and has been doing so for decades.
Occasionally rather than aim for all-purpose toughness, Casio G-Shock turns its attention to watches that specialise in coping with specific environments such as air and sea and this year it introduced this GWG-1000, dubbed the Mud Master.
Designed to deal with mud, dust and vibration, the Mud Master is a land-based tank of a watch. New mud-resistant gaskets have been developed to ensure that no form of sludge can penetrate the watch even when the buttons and pushers are depressed.
Vibration resistance also protects the watch from the kind of conditions generated by off-road driving and the operation of heavy duty machinery whilst the case, strap, buttons and pushers are awash with varying textures to offer grip in all conditions.
Add in a barometer, compass readout, thermometer, sapphire crystal glass, double LED illumination, alarms and solar power and you have a watch ready for any eventuality.
