HIGHLY COMMENDED: Quartz Watches of the Year, Seiko Astron GPS Dual Time

Seiko continues to develop its Astron GPS technology with the 8X movement coming in considerably smaller than its 7X predecessor.

The latest development in the groundbreaking series is the Dual Time model, pictured here is the limited edition model designed for brand ambassador Novak Djokovic, which maintains the wearer’s home time on a 12-hour sub dial at the six o’clock position and AM/PM indicator.

The solar-powered model still calculates its current timezone through GPS satellite positioning and adjusts automatically once a day or on request at the push of a button. Current day and date are also displayed on separate registers. The date will be correct until 28th February 2100 thanks to the Astron’s Perpetual Calendar.

The functionality reportedly saved Djokovic from adjusting his watch 60 times during his travels last year.
