HIGHLY COMMENDED: Luxury Watches of the Year, Bremont Jaguar MkI

Bremont’s collaboration with Jaguar began with a seriously limited edition run of just six white gold and aluminium watches, one to accompany each of the six modern E-type Lightweight cars produced.

The Henley watchmaker was faced with the dilemma of wanting to continue producing a similar design, but at a more attainable price point than the precious metal timepiece allowed.

Its solution was the slimmer 43mm polished stainless steel Bremont Jaguar Mk I. The dial beneath the double domed sapphire crystal glass displays small seconds at the nine o’clock position and date at the six o’clock whilst enigmatically excluding hour numerals between 4 and 8 o’clock to convey the feel of the E-Type’s tachometer.

But the watch’s true beauty is revealed on the reverse with a winding rotor in the form of the car’s three-spoke steering wheel and the iconic Jaguar head at its centre.
