Fossil seems to be having a great deal of fun with its wholly owned lifestyle brand, Skagen, seemingly exploring exactly what it means to Danish in some kind of wide-reaching cultural exercise.
Whether it’s just slick marketing gloss or Fossil truly trying to get under the skin of Danish design, the watch designs coming out of Skagen are so delightful I doubt anyone cares.
The Hagen exemplifies all that is great about Danish design; clean, flowing minimalism dotted with colourful, humorous flourishes.
This gold-tone PVD stainless steel watch boasts a deep-dish case shape with angular lugs and the most Spartan of dials in grey/brown with simple line hour markers.
The only embellishments come in the form of the brand name replacing the three o’clock marker and the recessed small seconds sub dial, which features numerals at each five-second point with the 30 and 60 second markers picked out in yellow and red.
