Henry London to spur overseas Peers Hardy growth

Peers Hardy sees the success of its new watch brand Henry London as the platform which will launch the company onto an international stage.

The Solihull-based company is already the UK’s largest independent watch distributor but has its sights set on international business to achieve new growth.

Speaking in the September issue of WatchPro, Peers Hardy’s sales and marketing director, Paul Harry said: “While we have enjoyed growth and success in the UK market, we know that to grow further, our next step is international.”

Henry London, which launches this month, looks set to launch in 200 doors in the UK and Ireland across independents and multiples.

It has also signed up distributors in countries including Australia, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Benelux, France, Iceland and has also secured a trial with US retailer Nordstrom.

Peers Hardy had been expecting Orla Kiely, its global watch license for the London-based Irish fashion designer, to be its first international breakthrough success story and made it the subject of its Baselworld showcase. And, while Harry describes the reaction to Orla Kiely as ‘spectacular’, it has been the simplicity of design and on-trend vintage story of Henry London that has grabbed the headlines.
