Where to begin with the Hautlence Vortex Gamma Magma? The watch is an architectural sculpture hewn together with six three-dimensional sapphire crystals combining with a material called HLLightColor, a material that can be tinted to take on a specific shade of any colour, to provide a vibrant showcase for the HL2.0 manufacture calibre.
Hautlence says HLLightColor is as strong as any traditional metal used in watchmaking but four times lighter than titanium.
It can be machined with the same precision, enabling extremely complex finishing such as alternating brushed, polished and sand-blasted surfaces.
The dial, made from sapphire, does little to obscure the HL2.0 self-winding calibre which drives the Vortex Gamma’s hour indication on a chain that jumps slowly every 60 minutes, and a retrograde second hand.
