Hamilton launches limited edition of its popular aviation timepiece

Hamilton has revamped its original Khaki X-Wind Auto Chrono with a new colourway. The limited edition line is only 1,918 pieces strong and comes just in time for Baselworld.

The 45mm piece sports a black dial with sand coloured hands that glow in the dark. On the dial are between the three counters, the day date window at 9 o’clock and the turning inner bezels.

Inside the case is the H-21-Si, the first Hamilton chronograph movement with a silicon hairspring. This material makes the movement more precise as silicon is non-magnetic and less sensitive to shocks. The automatic movement accounts for the hours minutes and seconds, day date window and the three chrono subdials, as well as the 60 hour power reserve.

The ‘H’ buckle and sturdy leather strap are in typical Hamilton aviation style and there is also a metal bracelet for those who prefer a full steel look.

No price was suggested but the original all black X-Wind chrono retails for £1,930.
