H. Moser & Cie creates unique watches to support global literacy charity

Children supported by Room to Read in India and Sri Lanka design unique dials for two auction pieces.

H. Moser & Cie. has created two special edition watches that will raise money for Room to Read, a world-wide charity that aims to eradicate illiteracy while tackling gender inequality.

As part of the project, the watchmaker turned to Room to Read’s Literacy Program in India and Sri Lanka where children made drawings that have been hand-painted by an artist onto dials for the auction pieces.

Room to Read has benefited more than 16.8 million children across 16 countries and 37,000 communities.

Two illustrations stood out, those drawn by Arif and Kasun. They were chosen both for their beautiful use of colour and the style of their designs.

Arif lives in Mumbai, India, where he has to walk several kilometers to school. His father sells fruits for a living; Arif would like to become a police officer.

Kasun is the son of a farmer from Sri Lanka who dreams of becoming a doctor.

The two unique pieces, both Endeavour Center Seconds Automatic models in 18ct gold.
