Greubel Forsey releases black titanium worldtimer

Greubel Forsey has revealed the ADLC-treated titanium watch it will showcase at SIHH in January.

The 43.5mm GMT Black is limited to just 22 pieces worldwide and features the GF05 in-house movement with 24-second tourbillon, inclined at a 25 degree angle.

The watch features Greubel Forsey’s stunning, theatrical interpretation of the day/night complication; a titanium, hand-detailed globe on the dial that completes one rotation every 24 hours and indicates day and night around the planet. Development of the globe element alone took Greubel Forsey 18 months to perfect.

Elsewhere on the dial is a primary timezone with hours and minutes, a second timezone GMT sub dial with hours, a running seconds sub dial and power reserve indicator charting the depletion of the movement’s 72-hour power reserve.

On the reverse is a large worldtime dial with 24 global cities and inner and outer rings to display the time in 24-hour format to reflect changes for daylight saving time. The US price of the Greubel Forsey GMT Black is $565,000 (£361,000).
