Grand Seiko has added to its Masterpiece Collection with a fresh Spring Drive timepiece inspired by the spectacular night sky above Japan’s Shinshu region of Achi.
The watch uses Grand Seiko’s Spring Drive manual-winding caliber 9R02, which was created for 20th anniversary of the movement.
Caliber 9R02 has a power reserve of 84 hours thanks to its Dual Spring Barrel, in which two mainsprings are set in parallel within a single barrel, and the Torque Return System.
It is rated with an accuracy of ± 1 second per day.
The slim 38.5mm platinum watch has a deep night sky blue dial decorated with a delicate sparkle of stars in an intricately engraved case.
Its hours and minutes hands and hour markers are made of 14ct white gold and it comes on a crocodile leather strap with a three-fold platinum clasp.
There will be 50 of the limited edition watch made, priced at £72,250.
