Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève whittles finalists down to 72 watches

Among the delighted watchmakers on the list are Seiko, which has seen its Seiko Prospex 1968 Diver’s Recreation included in the Sports Category of the awards.

The jury of the this year’s Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) has whittled down its long list of entries to 72 watches that will compete in win 12 categories at the November gala event.

The 2018 jury, composed of 30 experts cast their vote by secret ballot to select the winners of the world’s most prestigious awards for watch design.

Ahead of that vote, the shortlisted finalist timepieces will go on a global roadshow of exhibitions that take place in Venice, Hong Kong, Singapore and Geneva.

Among the delighted watchmakers on the list are Seiko, which has seen its Seiko Prospex 1968 Diver’s Recreation included in the Sports Category of the awards.

Its Seiko Presage Shippo Enamel (below) has been selected for the Challenge Category that looks at watches priced at under CHF 4000.
