Graff takes fifth Queen’s Award for trade

Diamond watch specialist Graff Diamonds has been granted the Queen’s Award for International Trade in recognition of its impression international expansion over the past three years.

This is the fifth time in the company’s history that Graff has received the accolade, with the award given to a British company on April 21 each year – Queen Elizabeth’s birthday.

The Queen’s Award for International Trade is granted on the advice of the Prime Minister, following a thorough examination of each application by an advisory committee composed of leading representatives from industry, commerce, trade unions and the government.

Graff chief executive officer Francois Graff said of the award: “We are delighted to receive this award, which is testimony to the ongoing success of our business. Operating at the very pinnacle of the luxury jewellery industry we continue to expand into new markets bringing fine jewels, crafted by hand at our London workshop to a growing global audience.

"Currently our portfolio incorporates 45 flagship stores spread globally and we plan to continue to expand our network through 2014 and beyond."

It has been a bumper few months for Graff, which opened its Harrods boutique in March this year and launched the world’s most expensive diamond watch, the Hallucination, at BaselWorld last month.

Francois Graff added: “We are extremely proud of our British heritage and whilst our global headcount is in excess of 600 – our international headquarters, design studios and workshops are proudly located in the heart of London.”
