Gphg2015winners

GPHG creates separate award for diver’s watches in recognition of their rising influence over the wider market

Entries for this year’s awards are being accepted until the end of June for watches across 14 categories.

Switzerland’s Grand Prix D’Horlogerie de Geneve (GPHG) is still accepting entries for this year’s competition until the end of June, and is drawing attention to two additional prizes that are being added this year to a total of 14 categories.

A Diver’s category has been added for watches designed with the characteristics required of the sport, but also in recognition that dive watches are such a popular part of the market right now from a fashion point of view.

In addition, GPHG has created an Iconic category, that looks at collections that have made a lasting influence on watchmaking for more than 25 years.

Further tweaks to the awards line up include bringing back the Calendar and Astronomy category for men’s mechanical watches comprising at least one calendar and/or astronomical complication.

The Horological Revelation Prize is also returning in 2019, enabling the jury to reward a creation from a youthful brand.

The 2019 list of prize-winners will be announced on Thursday November 7th at the Théâtre du Léman in Geneva.
