Gold Rolex bags top price at Chiswick auction

Chiswick Auctions achieved a sale price of £6240 for a 1990s gents gold Rolex Oyster, the star lot in this week’s jewellery and watch sale.

The wide-ranging auction curated by the company’s watch and jewellery expert Matt Caddick, sold a gents stainless steel cased Omega Seamaster Professional Chronometer wristwatch for £1200+commission, and an 18ct yellow gold gents Omega Seamaster automatic wristwatch with silvered dial, gilt quarter Arabic chapter ring and lizard grain strap for £650+commission.

Other notable watches were a gents stainless steel cased Breitling Navitimer chronograph wristwatch, with multi-function dial, rotating bezel and original black leather strap/buckle, which sold for £1050+commission; a gents vintage stainless steel International Watch Co. automatic dress watch, with silvered dial and later black leather strap that netted £520+commission; and a gents vintage gold plated Record Watch Co., moonphase/calendar dress watch with silvered multi-function dial and later leather strap that went under the hammer for £320+commission.

Chiswick Auction’s next jewellery and watches sale takes place on July 28. Entries are being accepted now.
