Geneva Watch Days begins today

A total of 17 brands are taking part in the event, which runs until Saturday 29 August, and will be exhibiting to press and clients in boutiques and hotels across downtown Geneva on a by-appointment-only basis.

Geneva Watch Days, the only Swiss multi-brand watch event this year, begins today in the city’s downtown area.

A total of 17 brands are taking part in the event, which runs until Saturday 29 August. They will be exhibiting to press and clients in boutiques and hotels across downtown Geneva on a by-appointment-only basis.

Bulgari, for example, will be unveiling some of its key new releases for 2020 at Hotel De La Paix, Ritz Carlton.

Bulgari noted that horlogerie continues to forge ahead with the introduction of its new Aluminium collection and its sixth world record-breaking watch, the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Chronograph Skeleton Automatic.

There will also be a tent set up in the city centre in which the public can discover the latest watch creations from partaking brands.

Another brand taking part, Girard-Perregaux, took to Twitter to show its excitement for the event last week, writing: “Stay tuned as we will be back in town from August 26th to August 29th to reveal our wonders.”

The exhibition has proved one of the only events in the industry calendar that has remained largely unchanged, at least since very early on in the coronavirus pandemic.

On 24 March it was announced that the exhibitions dates had changed to late August. Read below editor Rob Corder’s take on Geneva Watch Days going ahead:
