G-SHOCK’s G-Squad watches get smarter

Casio’s G-SHOCKS are getting smarter, without succumbing to the tech company’s assumption that it is fine to need to charge a watch every night.

Casio’s G-SHOCKS are getting smarter, without succumbing to the tech company’s assumption that it is fine to need to charge a watch every night.

A collection of Vital Energy watches, which join the G-Squad series, are the latest line to demonstrate the strategy.

They have battery life of two years, but can still be used to measure distance using an accelerometer while linked with the GPS function of a smartphone via Bluetooth.

And, once measurements have been recorded on the smartphone app, the next time you will be able to measure distance with the watch alone.

Group3You can also check your activity history by linking with an app running on your smartphone.

The app also helps to simplify the configuration of watch settings and training management.
