Casio has given a psychedelic twist to its latest MT-G watches with the design of the MTG-B2000PH inspired by the mythical Blue Phoenix using a rainbow ion plating effect on the bezel and case.
It is the latest step on G-SHOCK’s strategy to advance their use of colour, material, and finish with techniques such as ion plating and laser engraving.
The bezel and case are made separately with both having their colours built up in layers of blue, yellow and red that run crosswise on the bezel and lengthwise on the case.
The technique ensures that no two watches are exactly the same.
The 200 metre water resistant watch, measuring 55.1 × 51.0 × 15.9mm, has radio wave time-calibration and automatic time adjustment when paired with a smartphone using a dedicated app.
Other functions for the solar-charged piece include world time for over 300 cities, phone finder, daily alarm, and a fully automated calendar.
