Evolution is part of the identity of G-Shock and in this year the brand is using new materials and finishing techniques to give fresh looks to its shock-resistant watches.
Among collections unveiled at Baselworld that included fresh editions of its Gravitymaster, Mudmaster and Mr-G models, the Japanese watchmaker marked 20 years of the Casio MT-G Series with a model finished with rainbow ion plating.
The new MTG-B1000RB refracts light in different colours to evoke what the company calls a moonbow aesthetic — effectively a darker version of a rainbow.
The base model for the watch is the MTG-B1000, which uses G-Shock’s Core Guard Structure, a tough metal frame that protects the inner case from external shocks.
The glass is made from sapphire crystal and is worn on a soft urethane band.
