Fossil intensifies selective distribution

Fossil Europe has announced plans to intensify its work with selected distribution partners in Europe across its repertoire of licensed and own brands.

These changes will mean Fossil can focus on working with specific markets where its products have room to grow and bring key revenue.

Fossil, which distributes brands including Armani Exchange, Burberry, Diesel, DKNY, Fossil, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and Skagen, said it is reacting to rising demands on the distribution quality of its brands at the point of sale.

A Statement from Fossil said: "As of 2013, the company will be introducing qualitative distribution criteria on the European market that are uniform throughout Europe and were developed in conformity with EU antitrust law."

Antitrust laws are put in place to ensure that companies avoid price fixing, while allowing businesses equal opportunity to compete in a particular market.

Fossil Europe said its intensified cooperation is based on objective criteria that meet the requirements of distributing its brands.
