Formex adds new dial and tool-less bezel exchange to its latest REEF collection

Formex has made four ceramic and one steel bezel options available.

Formex has presented a new snow white dial and unique tool-less bezel exchange system for its REEF Automatic Chronometer 300M Dive watch collection.

The original REEF that launched around twelve months ago already allowed for a tool-less exchange of the steel bracelet and the rubber strap, but now the new REEF models now also allow to do exactly that with the bezel.

In doing so, Formex has made four ceramic and one steel bezel options available. Prices start at $1,670.00 and $160.00 for each additional bezel.

Tool-less bezel exchange system

With 40 possible configuration options, a REEF owner can now also swap the bezel with just a flick on the wrist as Formex engineers have developed a one of its kind bezel mounting system that allows the bezel to be pulled out from the case by hand and exchanged with another of the 4 color options (black, blue, green, steel).

The bezel underwent a reengineering that followed customer feedback and now has a 120-click unidirectional action with a nylon ring for a noticeably smoother click.

Being one of the most exposed parts, the bezel is made of an extremely hard and scratch-resistant Zirconium oxide ceramic.

The graduations and numbers are engraved by femto-laser pulsations and it takes 60 minutes of precision engraving for every bezel to achieve the desired three-dimensional effect. Machined gear-like indentations on the bezel’s edge allow a diver the ideal grip to safely set and monitor diving time and decompression stops.

Snow-white dial from the in-house manufacture

After the successful launch of the white dial Essence collection in March 2021, the brand’s community has been asking to give the REEF the same treatment.

To enhance legibility, the triangle shaped applied indices, the broad hour and minute hands and the sweeping seconds hand are kept in black, but all share the same detailed beveled mirror polish and brushed top surface finishing.

The Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9 lume on these black dial elements provide contrast on daytime, and a strong long-lasting blue glow in dark conditions.

The REEF Automatic Chronometer 300M can be configured on the FORMEX Online Boutique with 5 dial and 4 bezel options as well as a stainless-steel bracelet and a rubber strap.

Both the solid-link bracelet and the strap feature a buckle with a patented fine-adjustment.

In the US, the collection is now in stock an available starting at $1,670.00 on the FORMEX Online Boutique and selected Trusted Partners.

FORMEX CEO, Raphael Granito, said of the launch: “I’ve spent the past 10 years passionately developing and producing watch parts for many brands out there. Here at FORMEX, I am now able to use that knowledge and experience to create the best possible watches with the quality attributes and design features that are usually only found in high-end timepieces with a much higher price tag.

We designed and crafted the REEF to be the high-quality mechanical tool watch for the daily adventure, with practical features for more comfort and variety that you will only find in a FORMEX watch.”
