Richemont has announced the retirement of Pilar Boxford, the former Cartier public relations director and group management committee member.
Boxford, who joined Cartier Paris in 1979 as product manager of its perfumes section, is set to step down from Richemont’s group management committee on April 1. She will not be succeeded in the role.
Boxford has overseen Cartier’s worldwide public relations strategy since the late 1970s, becoming Cartier London’s communication director before being appointed group public relations director in 2004. Following her retirement, Boxford is set to continue as a consultant, supporting the Richemont’s various brands on key public relations matters.
Johann Rupert, Richemont executive chairman and chief executive, said: "After 33 years, Pilar’s knowledge and her contribution to Cartier and our other Maisons’ unique position are demonstrated by their worldwide reputations.”
